Six Degrees Medical is a collaborative, female-led, medical communications agency based in Toronto with remote workers across Canada and the UK.

Coming from 12 industries and 11 cultural backgrounds, our diverse team works with pharma and biotech companies who want to create meaningful experiences by truly connecting with their audiences through storytelling.

Reporting to our Director, Project Management, the Project Manager, will be responsible for tracking and managing key aspects and deliverables of projects.

 


What your responsibilities as our Project Manager will include:

  • Managing full lifecycle for projects such as virtual and in-person meetings, eLearning modules, online education tools, and enduring content       
  • Developing project plans, budgets, and timelines with input from other internal groups on the project, and submitting these to the Senior Project Lead for review and approval
  • Liaising with clients and internal colleagues for input and approval on project plans and timelines, along with making any recommended revisions
  • Managing timelines and budgets to ensure projects are aligned with project scope while proactively identifying scope creep or potential risks
  • Hosting and potentially leading project meetings with client and internal teams to identify innovative and creative solutions, refine schedules and/or budgets, and address any potential challenges
  • Demonstrating a strong understanding of internal teams and roles, to result in improved collaboration
  • Creating status meeting agendas and follow-up status reports
  • Building and maintaining strong, confident relationships with clients, vendors and freelancers based on a track record of delivering excellence
  • Collaborating with clients, and other key stakeholders, to ensure event execution is in line with commitments, expectations, and budget
  • Anticipating and helping to resolve client issues that arise, by proactively consulting with colleagues to identify potential issues
  • Completing project close-out responsibilities, including reconciliation in collaboration with the Senior Project Lead and finance team

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • A College or Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Arts, or Science, coupled with a minimum of two years of project management or coordination experience in the execution of medical events, medical education programs, and training materials within an agency environment
  • Knowledge of the global pharmaceutical industry and related compliance and regulatory affairs
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to set priorities to meet project deadlines, and juggles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of and/or ability to research and learn about the medical specialties of our clients
  • The ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Demonstrated awareness of the cultural diversity of clients and other key stakeholders
  • Experience with Monday.com or other project management software is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for working in a team environment
  • A self-starter mindset; demonstrates initiative and ownership of responsibilities
  • Positive attitude, integrity, and a passion for SDM’s vision, mission, and values
